Just a few more CBS summer notes to share with you guys. This Thursday at 8pm will be Big Bang Theory and Old Christine repeats from 8-9pm, with a CSI: Miami repeat at 10pm. Then on this coming Saturday, June 6, CBS will air an all-new, unaired episode of Worst Week at 8:30, out of a repeat of Old Christine. Old Christine will also for an hour at 8pm on June 11.
Lastly, on Saturday, July 11, Harper's Island will have a 2-hour series finale at 10pm. It was originally supposed to end on this date, but CBS preempted for a week. Now CBS has decided to end on this date after all, with a 2 hour series finale. If you haven't watched the show in awhile, I suggest you do, as we're definitely learning a lot about the characters and the past.
Very happy about the unaired Worst Week! This is definitely a show that was perfect for just 1 season. I forgot all about the unaired episode, and I'm glad CBS has decided to air it. Hopefully they'll promote it some. And, that's definitely a lot of Old Christine!

ABC Adds Reality Series to Summer Lineup
ABC has announced that they have added an additional reality series, titled "Crash Course," to air later this summer. 7 1-hour episodes of the series have been picked up.
The show will feature couples taking extreme diving challenges, until one couple ends up in the final round, the crash course. The show will fit in perfectly with Wipeout and I Survived a Japanese Gameshows, which are becoming summer staples at the network.
A premiere date has not yet been set, but expect to see it hit the schedule in late July.

ABC Summer Changes
In The Motherhood, which was set to premiere for its last 3 episodes on Friday, June 5, will now be pushed back to Thursday, June 25. The show will air for a 3-week run its final 3 unaired episode at 8:30. Samantha Who? will supposedly be airing at 8:00, but it's unclear if these airings will be repeats or unaired episodes.
Also interesting, Samantha Who? will be encoring on Fridays at 9:00 and 9:30 starting June 5th. The show has quite a few unaired episodes left, so its strange as to why ABC is airing repeats of it, especially since the show has been cancelled. Perhaps ABC isn't quite done with it afterall?

Big Brother Returns July 9, CBS Switcheroos

Thursday, July 9th sees the return of long-running summer reality series Big Brother. The show will air Sundays at 8pm, Tuesdays at 9pm, and Thursdays at 8pm for the duration of the summer.
This will be Big Brother's 11th season.
Also for CBS summer, they'll begin to air Big Brother, The Mentalist, and How I Met Your Mother in their new fall timeslots. Beginning Thursday, June 4, The Mentalist will be airing repeats Thursdays at 10pm, as well as in its current timeslot of Tuesdays at 9pm until Big Brother takes over.
Beginning Monday, June 8, How I Met Your Mother will slide into 8pm, while Big Bang Theory slides into the 9:30 timeslot. Rules of Engagement will air its repeats at 8:30 for the timebeing.
And, starting June 2, 48 Hours Mystery will be airing original episodes on Tuesdays at 10pm in addition its current timeslot of Saturdays at 10pm, out of Harper's Island.
CBS' summer schedule will consist mostly of repeats. Big Brother remains one of the few original series on the schedule.

"Jon & Kate" Premiere Sets Record Ratings
I just had to post this, because it's really quite incredible.
Last night's 5th season premiere of TLC hit "Jon & Kate Plus 8" was watched by a record 9.8 million viewers, which is nearly double of what the show's record was, set by the show last season.
The episode posted the best ever demos in adults 18-49 (6.3 rating) and women (9.1 rating).
What's even more impressive - it outrated every show that aired on broadcast television last night. "Jon & Kate" beat the highest rated broadcast show - Medium, 7.8 million, by nearly 2 million viewers.
After all the news about Jon and Kate cheating on each other, and Jon having an affair with a 23-year old school teacher, while Kate remained on the road for her job, curiosity seemed to bring in many extra viewers. The show showed the both of them seperate, and it's now out in the open that they are going through many marital problems. The episode was left with a cliffhanger, as Jon & Kate sat together for an interview as the question "What does the future hold?" was asked.

Applegate Urges Fans to Save Her Show!

Christina Applegate has become the latest celebrity to launch a campaign to save their TV show - she is urging fans to sign a petition for her axed series Samantha Who?
Applegate was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy for the show last year.
It was not enough to save the programme - bosses at America's ABC network have cancelled it economic reasons.
But Applegate is refusing to give up without a fight, and has launched an online campaign to persuade TV chiefs to change their minds.
She has posted a link on her Twitter.com internet page urging her followers to sign an online petition, which currently has 2,400 signatures and is expected to be forwarded to executives at ABC in the next few weeks.

My thoughts: Nice numbers across the board. Dancing with the Stars lead the finales at 8pm, while The Bachelorette was off to a sluggish start in my opinion. Castle was doing much better after Dancing, but for a summer series, Bachelorette remains strong. Over at CBS, Two and a Half led the sitcoms, up nearly 3 million from the previous week and close to a season high. Meanwhile, Big Bang Theory will be missed at 8pm next season, as Rules of Engagement couldn't hold up in the slot and How I Met Your Mother was lost without it. CSI: Miami was up from the previous week and went out strong. At FOX, 24 hit a season low for its season finale. Not too good, as House clearly holds this show up. It did build in its half hours, though, going from 8 million to 10 million. At NBC, Deal or No Deal, while building up nicely, was terrible once again. I believe NBC has also cancelled the primetime series, so don't expect to see this back in primetime, at least not anytime soon. And Medium didn't benefit, as it saw a rough showing at 10pm, right before NBC cancelled it. Watch out for Medium on CBS Fridays next season! Medium still has 2 more episodes to air, tonight and next Monday, the season finale. The CW had finales of their shows, but both were off a million from what they premiered to back in September.

My thoughts: The Dancing finale seemed to have an effect across the board. The results show was up nearly 6 million from the previous week, so it was a great showing and a great finale. American Idol aired at 8pm and still dominated, leading into the preview premiere of Glee at a respectable rating. It was a little better than Fringe the previous week, which is the good news. I'm sure FOX will be happy if it can continue to get those ratings. If anyone watched it, how did you like it? I loved it - a refreshing drama, and the music was fantastic. Meanwhile, the CBS finales also did good, with both NCIS and The Mentalist holding up very well against the Idol and Dancing. The Mentalist rose hugely in the demo from NCIS and in total viewers. Without a Trace's finale was off 2 million from the previous week, as it turned out to be the series finale. And the Law & Order: SVU finale was absolutely terrible, and a series low. Seems like DWTS had a huge effect on it. NBC should be worried with those numbers.

My thoughts: Clearly FOX dominated this final day of May sweeps with the American Idol finale. It amazes me how people will only come to watch the premiere and the finale of this show. Congratulations to Kris! The only thing that held up against it was Criminal Minds, which had a respectable 14 million for its season finale. CBS should be very proud with that. The comedies, meanwhile, all hit series lows. I'm sure it was the Idol finale that really effected them, but it probably would have been a good idea to move the comedy hour to Tuesdays, putting NCIS: LA to Wednesdays at 8pm. ABC gave up the night, and Law & Order should make a good Friday show for NBC.

My thoughts: And the summer season officially starts! Ugly Betty aired is finale out of season on ABC with a season low. But, if it can do this on Fridays next season, I'm sure ABC will be happy. If it continues to go down - next season will definitely be its last. Southland was the other finale, at an almost identical rating. Southland will be moving to the same timeslot on Fridays next season. My guess is it will drop even more. I'm definitley going to give the edge to Medium next season, with Ugly Betty coming in second, Southland a close third, and Dollhouse deadlast at 9pm. And summer favorite So You Think You Can Dance premiered to respectable ratings. But, those are not the ratings FOX will want in the fall. It will need to do better than this.

My thoughts: ABC'S Diamonds really bombed last night. They were promoting it, too. A clearly disappointing showing. Million Dollar Password returned with a repeat, and to just okay numbers. My thoughts: Nice numbers across the board. Dancing with the Stars lead the finales at 8pm, while The Bachelorette was off to a sluggish start in my opinion. Castle was doing much better after Dancing, but for a summer series, Bachelorette remains strong. Over at CBS, Two and a Half led the sitcoms, up nearly 3 million from the previous week and close to a season high. Meanwhile, Big Bang Theory will be missed at 8pm next season, as Rules of Engagement couldn't hold up in the slot and How I Met Your Mother was lost without it. CSI: Miami was up from the previous week and went out strong. At FOX, 24 hit a season low for its season finale. Not too good, as House clearly holds this show up. It did build in its half hours, though, going from 8 million to 10 million. At NBC, Deal or No Deal, while building up nicely, was terrible once again. I believe NBC has also cancelled the primetime series, so don't expect to see this back in primetime, at least not anytime soon. And Medium didn't benefit, as it saw a rough showing at 10pm, right before NBC cancelled it. Watch out for Medium on CBS Fridays next season! Medium still has 2 more episodes to air, tonight and next Monday, the season finale. The CW had finales of their shows, but both were off a million from what they premiered to back in September.

My thoughts: The Dancing finale seemed to have an effect across the board. The results show was up nearly 6 million from the previous week, so it was a great showing and a great finale. American Idol aired at 8pm and still dominated, leading into the preview premiere of Glee at a respectable rating. It was a little better than Fringe the previous week, which is the good news. I'm sure FOX will be happy if it can continue to get those ratings. If anyone watched it, how did you like it? I loved it - a refreshing drama, and the music was fantastic. Meanwhile, the CBS finales also did good, with both NCIS and The Mentalist holding up very well against the Idol and Dancing. The Mentalist rose hugely in the demo from NCIS and in total viewers. Without a Trace's finale was off 2 million from the previous week, as it turned out to be the series finale. And the Law & Order: SVU finale was absolutely terrible, and a series low. Seems like DWTS had a huge effect on it. NBC should be worried with those numbers.

My thoughts: Clearly FOX dominated this final day of May sweeps with the American Idol finale. It amazes me how people will only come to watch the premiere and the finale of this show. Congratulations to Kris! The only thing that held up against it was Criminal Minds, which had a respectable 14 million for its season finale. CBS should be very proud with that. The comedies, meanwhile, all hit series lows. I'm sure it was the Idol finale that really effected them, but it probably would have been a good idea to move the comedy hour to Tuesdays, putting NCIS: LA to Wednesdays at 8pm. ABC gave up the night, and Law & Order should make a good Friday show for NBC.

My thoughts: And the summer season officially starts! Ugly Betty aired is finale out of season on ABC with a season low. But, if it can do this on Fridays next season, I'm sure ABC will be happy. If it continues to go down - next season will definitely be its last. Southland was the other finale, at an almost identical rating. Southland will be moving to the same timeslot on Fridays next season. My guess is it will drop even more. I'm definitley going to give the edge to Medium next season, with Ugly Betty coming in second, Southland a close third, and Dollhouse deadlast at 9pm. And summer favorite So You Think You Can Dance premiered to respectable ratings. But, those are not the ratings FOX will want in the fall. It will need to do better than this.
