ABC Starts "Game Show" Early, Banishes Comedies to Fridays

After the very low ratings of The Goode Family this Wednesday, ABC has pulled the show from the slot immediately. In it's place will be a second all new episode of Wipeout, at 9pm. The week after that, though, will be the season premiere of I Survived a Japanese Gameshow. The show will launch 3 weeks early, airing Wednesdays at 9pm for 10 weeks. Gameshow did decently last season, but lost nearly half its audience by the end of its season.

Surviving Surburbia and The Goode Family, meanwhile, will begin airing Fridays at 8pm beginning next week. Following that will be 2 repeats of Samantha Who at 9pm for 2 weeks, with According to Jim repeats taking over after that. 20/20 will continue at 10pm, of course. Suburbia and Goode will continue to be new until episodes run out. Both shows are considered cancelled.

Also on ABC, Saturdays at 9pm will be repeats of Castle beginning June 20. Wipeout repeats will continue airing at 8pm until further notice. And, don't forget that at 10pm will be all new episodes of Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, and Dirty Sexy Money throughout the summer.

  1. Old Christine hardly keept up with The Big Bang Theory :

    8:00PM BIG BANG THEORY THURS-REPEAT 3.8/7, 5.67, 1.6/6, 2.0/6
    8:30PM OLD CHRISTINE THURS-REPEAT 3.4/6, 5.04, 1.4/4, 1.8/5

630,000 viewers and .2 in the 18-49 demo is a big drop for Christine.

  2. I wouldn't say so. Considering Big Bang Theory always does 2-3 million higher than Old Christine in originals, this drop wasn't nearly as high. And the demo drop wasn't too big, either. Comedies just don't see to do well anywhere besides Mondays for some reason on CBS>
