Okay, I've already had a few emails and a comment requesting these, so I'll post them. I received them in grid format, but I can't seem to copy them into here, so I'll just type them up. But please, keep in mind, these are anything but solid schedules. They're just tentative, and obviously, CBS will use a blend of all of them to come up with the exact schedule of the fall. Here they are, in the order I received. But, these do include some of the things I pointed out in my last post. Please comment!!!!!!!

And there you have it. 9 primetime schedulesthat are so different in many ways, but are similar in others. What you can take from it: expect CSI: Miami to stay Mondays at 10pm, Two and a Half Men stay Mondays at 9pm, CSI to stay Thursdays at 9pm, NCIS to stay Tuesdays at 8pm, and Ghost Whisperer to stay Fridays at 8pm. In a rather shocking move, Survivor may now only be 1 cycle a season, to allow for new shows to get a spot on the schedule, which could either be bad or good for the show. The Mentalist is looking to be Thursdays at 10pm for now. From the list of on the bubble shows, the ones that are likely lock-ins for renewal are Without a Trace, Cold Case, Old Christine, Gary Unmarried, Eleventh Hour, and The Unit. Oddly enough, though, Rules of Engagement doesn't appear on all the schedules, leading me to believe it still remains on the bubble. Overall, though, we could definitely see some shocking changes for next season.
What's your favorite schedule of the 10? What sounds reasonable, what would you like to see happen, and what do you think sounds absolutely absurd? I'd love to heard, so post now!
If you'd like me to send you the schedule grids that I specifically received from my source, send me an email at somoskin93@yahoo.com and I'll happily forward them to you!

Wow Julie thanks! These schedules are really odd! LOL. The only logical thing I hope they do is have NCIS/Criminal Minds together. Cause other wise I sooo don't see Criminal Minds as an 8:00 show! It's wayy dark!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing - an NCIS/Criminal Minds matchup seems very logical to me as well, and it could definitly give a bigger profile to CM.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading!
Are the schedules in chronological order of publishing? Because, at least to me, schedule 10 sounds like the most logical as it builds on all of the changes in the previous schedules.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I thought CBS passed on Confessions of a Contractor yet it is in all of the schedules. Was it picked back up?
I also like schedule 10 - like you said, it is like a combination of the previous schedules.
ReplyDeleteConfessions of a Contractor is still around as far as I know. I never heard of CBS passing on it. Oddly, though, I have been hearing a lot about Miami Trauma, but it doesn't appear on any other schedules. Perhaps CBS passed on it, and it just hasn't been announced yet.
This is all from an inside source - I'll ask some questions and try to find out some new things for you guys ASAP.
Tnaks for all your work. It is interesting to see it all line up. I also was surprised about Miami Trauma not on any of the schedules, maybe it piloted poorly. It seems like they are also taking their time with Washington Field as it looks like it is a potential summer series, a la Flashpoint. Interesting tactic. Saturday lineups are interesting also. It could either do well or be something that CBS won't try again.
ReplyDeleteI really can't see any of these schedules working. There is way to many changes on some. I doubt CBS would move How I Met Your Mother after 2.5 Men with how it is doing after TBBT. One I saw Criminal Minds at 8pm! A little gory for 8pm dont you think? :D These were fun to look at though! Thanks for posting them! :)
ReplyDeleteWhoever made out these skeds is positively in love with The Good Wife given what it would be replacing and what it would be airing out of and its apparent content. Do you know anything more about this show beyond, for example, futon's thumbnail sketch which describes it as a legal drama about a politician's wife who carves out her own niche? I have some other thoughts, pending more information.
ReplyDeleteI also noticed that these skeds boost Cold Case, giving it a crime lead in for the first time, keeping it away from the 10pm dump hour, and keeping it off of friday nite. Alot seems to ride on how they prioritize this show, because it seemingly affects TAR, whether a show like 11th Hour lives on as the sacrificial lamb at 10pm, and whether The Unit lives on Friday. I'm just trying to find a few pressure points amid all of this information.
None of these schedules could work. But, pieces from these schedules could work I think. I'm guessing these are what CBS is keeping in mind when coming up with a final schedule, so we may see some of these pairups in the final product.
ReplyDeleteI can see HIMYM going after Men. Perhaps CBS is realizing that launching a show at 9:30 just isn't working, and wants to give it a try at 8:30? I definitely couldn't see HIMYM on Sundays, though. That just wouldn't work. A lot of comedies on CBS, it seems like. And perhaps both Old Christine and Gary Unmarried will be back after all.
I asked about Miami Trauma, so we'll see if that's been passed on or what.
Putting How I Met Your Mother after Two and a Half Men makes absolutely no sense. HIMYM is CBS's youngest skewing sitcom and 2 1/2 Men is one of their older skewing sitcoms. HIMYM would bleed viewers from 2 1/2 Men. Also, they tried HIMYM after 2 1/2 Men in the summer, and HIMYM never held much of the 2 1/2 Men audience.
ReplyDeleteBruce, I completely understand. Seems like CBS is staying keen on Cold Case from these schedules - keeping it on Sundays for at least 1 more season, with NCIS: Legends, which will probably hit, is a positive for the show. Same for Without a Trace, in those first schedules airing on Wednesday at 10pm (which isn't that bad of a move if you ask me).
ReplyDeleteEleventh Hour seems to be brought back as a last-chance show. If it can't climb out of the small hole it dug for itself this season, it won't last beyond next season. But, Sundays at 10pm, or even Fridays isn't bad for this show at all try to try it get it to work.
It seems like Amazing Race is getting dumped for NCIS: Legends, which I can see happening. One cycle airing next season, and in every schedule, its on Saturdays. Actually, if they want to jumpstart Saturdays, Amazing Race is actually a good idea.
The Good Wife stars Chris Noth and Christine Baranski, in the plot you described. From what I've gotten from it, it sounds kind of like the original plot for Medium, and interesting for a CBS drama.
Ronnie, Two and a Half Men still pulls in a better demo than HIMYM. Perhaps CBS is interested in giving HIMYM a bigger profile after Men?
ReplyDeleteBut, I agree. BBT, HIMYM, and Men from 8-9:30 should stay the same. It just fits, and CBS shouldn't mess with it.
I would not break up the BBT/HIMYM combo. They compliment each other better than any of the other CBS sitcoms. They have a big crossover audience. I think splitting them up would be a huge mistake.
ReplyDeleteJulie,
ReplyDeleteMen does have a higher demo, but much more viewers. The average age of the Men viewers is much higher than the HIMYM viewers, because HIMYM has such fewer viewers. Lots of Men viewers will turn off CBS at 9:30, because they could be watching HIMYM at 8:30 before Men, and they do not, so why should they watch it after Men ?
Thats a good hypothesis, and you are right - Men has older viewers, generally, than HIMYM. Like I said, BBT abd HIMM make a great duo, and really support each other well, and need to stick together for awhile.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I hope CBS really does something like a comedy night on Sats. Reminiscent of the old days with All In The Family thru Carol Burnett.
ReplyDeleteIt is very reminiscent of the old days, when the best comedies aired on Saturdays. It is an interesting idea indeed - airing comedy repeats of their major sitcoms from 8-10pm to jumpstart the night, then airing new episodes at 10pm. I'd almost wish it would happen that way, because its a good idea.
ReplyDeleteJulie,
ReplyDeleteI for one would love to see Comedies back on nights like Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, but the idea of moving How I Met Your Mother to Sundays at 8 is a horrible idea. We've seen it can't lead off Monday nights, and I highly doubt it'll do better leading off Sunday's from 8-10. BBT and HIMYM work best together from 8-9 because they bring in the youngest audience of the comedy block.
Since new comedies aren't working for them at 9:30, why not move "Men," which would most likely bring in the same ratings to 9:30 and try out a new comedy between "Mother" and "Men?" Ratings wise, it would be a smart and bold move, as this new comedy would bring in some of the ratings from the sucessful 8-9 duo.
They were also rumors last week on tvweek.com that CBS was considering moving Big bang and How I Met Your Mother to lead off a two hour block on Wednesdays. I can see now that was false.
Well, Julie, thanks for the response on The Good Wife. If this prioritizing is anywhere near the truth, they must think the pilot is wicked good because if TM does move, this tuesday 9pm is THE slot and they would be bypassing at least a few shows more compatible in terms of content and perhaps gender appeal with NCIS. Also, anything "legal" tends to slant very old, note C2H and Shark. SVU slants young but that's a cop show. I'm not the biggest exponent of compatibility, it can be overrated, but this placement at 9pm is a bit jarring. Skeptical.
ReplyDeleteIf I hadn't seen any of these skeds, I would have thought The Good Wife looked good for 8pm Sunday, then Cold Case, if that's getting the priority we've been discussing. Even though ABC is female-strong on the nite, as long as it stayed away from DH, it wouldn't be imperiled.
Cold Case started in that hour, these skeds have the NCIS spinoff starting the nite, and if they're that sold on Wife they shouldn't be afraid of it leading off a nite.
Julie, this information is the first ray of sunshine I've seen in weeks about my favorite show, Without a Trace. It's been moved three times, but I don't mind if it's moved again if it can stay on the air. It's been doom and gloom, and now maybe there's a light at the end of the tunnel. If CBS is canceling only one show, how will there be room for three new pilots?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ryan. I definitely agree about Mother - I highly doubt CBS will move it to Sundays. It can't lead off a comedy block any better than Old Christine can. It would die on Sundays, and I'd hate to see that happen. Keeping Big Bang Theory and Mother on Mondays is just logical. I don't think we'll ever see Men move out of Mondays at 9pm until it ends, just like Everybody Loves Raymond. I would like to see how it could do on a different night, though.
ReplyDeleteBruce, according to these schedules, The Good Wife does seem to be at the top of their pilot list. It's on every single sked, on the same night (though switching between 9 and 10pm). It also seems like NCIS: Legend is a shoe-in for Sundays at this point. I bet CBS would rather air that on Sundays, giving Cold Case a good lead-in, and airing a moderate performing show, like Eleventh Hour, at 10pm.
ReplyDeleteLike you said, if The Mentalist does move, Tuesdays at 9pm will be a prime slot that they will have to schedule perfectly to make it work.
Diane, I'm glad I could relieve you a bit. I think the point here was that CBS has too much invested in Without a Trace at this point to cancel it so abruptly. And shown by its latest airing last Tuesday, it does have strength to bring in an audience wherever it airs - it hit close to a season high, and built on a Mentalist repeat. Moving it to Wednesdays could be a very good move. I'm not sure how it would do on Fridays, though, but that would also be another logical choice for it.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, CBS would just have to cut down on the number episodes of each show for the season. Shows would be sharing slots with shortened orders, that's all. There seems to be 1 or 2 slots for new dramas to air all season long, with many slots for new sitcoms to air, but that's only if CBS decides to aggressively program Saturdays. Either way, it seems they'll get everything fit in, which I'm glad to see.
I don't think why they keep saying EH ratings were bad this season. For a first season, they were pretty good and it has done way much better in the demos than those old shows like WaT and Cold Case. If this show is brought back, it will grow. Fan base has grown since the season finale. Just wait and see. I can take this show in any time slot, it's very good. I really hope CBS is intelligent enough and keeps this show. The CSIs, at least two of them, are dying slow.
ReplyDeleteThe schedules seem rather out of date...I read on another blog that Confessions of a Contractor had been dropped by CBS and indeed it has been. Perhaps your source is giving you old news. Just wondering.
ReplyDeleteI agree about CSI, Lourdes - the whole franchise is slowly declining, as seen by this season's ratings. All 3 shows have seen year-to-year decreases. Eleventh Hour has done okay for its freshman year, and I do think it is worth giving another chance, but its retention levels have only been so-so out of CSI, and it has demo problems. But, like I said, it does deserve another chance.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, Confessions of a Contractor has not been dropped. Anonymous, do you have the link to the other blog that says it has been? It could be old, though, or it could just be irrelevant information. Take it with a grain of salt . . .
An interesting site that lists all the network pilots and their filming dates, cast etc.Page 1 lists Confessions but apparently they have had trouble finding a lead so it's been "pushed" (is this the same as cancelled?).

Also found this at Popwatch which says that it has been cancelled.

That is very interesting. It says its just been "pushed" to a later date, but not cancelled. The other says it was cancelled, but I can't find another source that says it was cancelled. I'm not sure what to make of it. It didn't sound like that bad of a show, too.
ReplyDeleteAccording to tvtracker.com, Miami Trauma is still filming
ReplyDeleteShoot Date From 03-26-2009
Shoot Date To 04-21-2009
There are leaked NBC & ABC schedules all over the net.
ReplyDeleteJulie, so you have any more info? This is is really fun to read! Congrats on the blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tim. I'm working on getting some more updates, so hopefully I'll get some by tomorrow. Glad its fun to read, as it should be.
ReplyDeleteMiami Trauma will likely make it somewhere on the schedule, as it definitley isn't dead yet. I also heard somewhere NBC is now interested in it - lots of rumors going around the net at this time, so it's definitely hard to know what to believe.

Hi Julie,
ReplyDeleteFrom what I read at Variety, Confessions of a Contractor was delayed because they couldn't find a suitable male lead:
http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118000434.html?categoryid=1300&cs=1
It's also dropped off of all of the pilot watch radars that I've seen. It's weird to see it listed on the skeds at all then. As someone mentioned, perhaps your source is giving you old news and views.
As for the medical drama picks, I've been hearing more buzz surrounding Three Rivers rather than Miami Trauma. Any news on that? If CBS would go with Miami Trauma they're going to face name recognition problems because it seems that NBC is almost assuredly picking up their own new med drama, Trauma, no doubt meant to replace departing drama ER. I've heard good buzz surrounding the NBC show and almost zilch about the CBS one.
I have to second the commenter above who mentioned Three Rivers. Both The Hollywood Reporter ("strong contender") and Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood Daily ("they like what they are seeing") have good things to say about its chances. Miami Trauma has apparently faded in the stretch because it was not mentioned in either pub. And as previous commenters have mentioned CBS cancelled the pilot order for Confessions of a Contractor. To me it sounds like these are old schedules (at least a month old). I do agree that NCIS2 will be on the schedule and Sundays would be perfect but anything else is up for grabs.
