According to the Hollywood Reporter, FOX has just picked up 2 new pilots - comic book drama Human Target, and single-cam comedy Sons of Tuscan.
Target was the best-received pilot at the net's screening - not necessarily saying it was well-received? Both it and Sons remained early favorites at the network among their short list of pilot contenders.
Human Target is about a freelancer who assumes the identities of people in danger, becoming their "human target." Sons of Tuscan is about a misguided hustler who is hired by 3 brothers to become their father while their real one is away in prison.
Both shows have unique premises, but are they too unique? Will they become to cult-like? Maybe FOX should have learned from NBC's Heroes and stay away from comic book series.
They also go onto say that drama "Past Life" and comedy "Brothers" are still hot contenders, while bubble show "Dollhouse" shouldn't be counted out yet. But let's be honest here - Dollhouse has about the life of a fruit fly left in it.
