Is Medium on the move to CBS?
The NBC-aired drama is currently in negotiations with CBS Television Studios, the producer of the show, for the number of episodes the sixth season should receive. NBC is looking for a production costs discount, and they want a similar deal to what they received for the show this season: a firm 13 episode committment, being allowed to add on to that whenever they feel fit. CBS, though, is looking to snag a full 22 episode season out of the show.
But, will NBC take this, or will they pass? CBS insiders are saying they don't want the show to end this early. They feel if NBC does indeed let Medium go, it could be on the move to their network, a natural slot being Fridays at 9pm out of the similar Ghost Whisperer. But, will CBS really commit to this, and will NBC really let one of their stronger shows go?
Whatever happens will most likely be announced at upfronts this week, if a deal can be reached by then.
