Network Notes (for rest of season)

Okay, I thought I'd update you guys on the scheduling notes for ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX from until May 20th, the official end of the season. Look out for my other post on the summer schedules for all 4 networks as well as The CW.

ABC - The final episodes of According to Jim return this Tuesday, April 14th at 8pm. 2 episodes will air in the hour up to May 12th. 12 episodes are left of the final season, so looking at this schedule, 2 episodes will remain unaired. Not sure where ABC will air them, but my guess would be either air them for one week on Friday, or preempt them altogether and air the series finale on May 12th as scheduled. Remember, this is the series' final season. The finale will feature some bigname guest stars as well as returning characters. Make sure to watch! This is also Scrubs' final season, according to ABC. The series finale is set to air May 13th!

Meanwhile, Dancing with the Stars will air its final performance show this season on May 18th, with its final results show on May 19th. A recap show will air prior to it at 8pm. Lost will conclude its season on May 13th with a 2 hour season finale 9-11pm. A recap show will air that night at 8pm as well. Better Off Ted will end its season April 29th, In The Motherhood, Samantha Who?, and Private Practice will all end on April 30th. SW? will seemingly still have 6 episodes left unaired - possibly they'll air next season? Wife Swap and Supernanny will air their season finales on May 1. Ugly Betty will return on Thursday, May 7th, at 8pm, and will run until the 21st and air a 2-hour season finale 8-10pm on that night. Brothers & Sisters will finish up on May 10th, and the following week, Desperate Housewives and Extreme Makeover: HE will end their seasons, the Housewives having a 2-hour finale as usual. Grey's Anatomy will end on May 14th with another usual 2-hour finale. Castle and Cupid will end their seasons on May 11 and May 12. The Bachelorette comes back for another season, premiering on Monday, May 18th 9-11pm.

Surviving Suburbia and The Unusuals will continue into the summer. If you haven't watched Surviving Suburbia yet, I highly recommend, because it's the funniest sitcom I've seen in a very long time! It airs Mondays at 9:30, for 5 more weeks, before moving to Wednesday at 9:30 for the summer. Please watch!

CBS - There will be some one-time changes on the Eye network for the rest of the season. On Monday April 20, The Mentalist repeat will air at 10pm, preempting a CSI: Miami repeat. On Tuesday April 21, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men will air in the 8pm hour, pushing back NCIS and The Mentalist repeats to 9 and 10pm. On Wednesday April 22, a repeat of Criminal Minds will air at 9pm, pushing back a brand new installment of Criminal Minds to 10pm and preempting CSI: NY for the night. For April 29th only, Rules of Engagement will air at 8pm, and Old Christine will move back a half hour to 8:30. Gary Unmarried will be preempted entirely. Old Christine will return to the 8pm slot with Gary Unmarried for their final 2 episodes the week after. On Saturday, April 25, CBS will air Streisand: In Concert from 8-10pm. And, on May 18, Rules of Engagement (all new) will air at 8pm, preempting a Big Bang Theory repeat, and will continue to air in its regular 9:30 timeslot.

Now, for the CBS finale dates. On Sunday May 10, Amazing Race, Cold Case, and The Unit will end their seasons. Cold Case will be part 2 of a 2-part episode, part 1 airing the previous week. On May 11, Big Bang Theory will wrap things up (and remember, it's already been renewed for 2 more seasons). On Wednesday May 13, Old Christine and Gary Unmarried will end their seasons. Both are still on the bubble for renewal, with Christine likely being renewed and Gary Unmarried likely getting cancelled. On May 14, CSI will air its season finale, and on May 15th, all 3 dramas will end their seasons. For Sunday May 17, Survivor will air its finale at 8pm, with the reunion show airing at 10pm, as always. On Monday May 18, Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother, and Rules of Engagement will end, along with CSI: Miami at 10pm. On Tuesday May 19, all 3 dramas will wrap up the season. On Wednesday, May 20, Criminal Minds will air a 2-hour season finale (the first for the show) from 8-10pm, and CSI: NY will finish at 10pm.

NBC - Since NBC has already aired many of its finales, the next month will be hectic for the network, and a bit confusing. First, if you haven't already noticed, Wednesdays have turned into L&O nights - a repeat of the original series airs at 8pm, a repeat of Law & Order: SVU airs at 9pm, and an original installment of Law & Order airs at 10pm, for the remainder of the season. Life wrapped up its season last week. Also, Kings has been banished to Saturdays at 8pm, so Dateline will now be 2 hours, leading into the great Celebrity Apprentice from 9-11pm.

Chuck and Heroes will wrap up their seasons on April 27. For Mondays after that (May 4, 11, 18), Deal or No Deal will return for original installments at 8pm, and Medium will air in a 2-hour block from 9-11pm for these 3 weeks. Medium will be preempted on May 25, and will thus air its season finale on June 1 at 10pm. Seems as though all 10pm shows will be preempted the week of May 25th for some Conan O'Brien Tonight Show special - it's terrible how these shows won't even be airing their season finales in the regular season. And if you don't watch Medium, you have no idea what you're missing! Meanwhile, The Office and 30 Rock will finish up on Thursday, May 14th. On Tuesday May 19th, Most Outrageous Moments will air at 8pm. Law and Order: SVU will air its season finale on May 26, with the original Law and Order airing on May 27 at 10pm. Southland will finish up on May 21 at 10pm, and it's still unclear as to when My Name is Earl and Parks & Recreation will end their seasons.

FOX - First of all, there will be some one-time changes. On Wednesday April 15, a special episode of Bones will air at 8pm leading into American Idol, preempting Lie to Me. Bones will continue to air on its Thursday timeslot. Bones will get another special airing the week after, on Monday, April 20 at 8pm, preempting a House repeat. American Idol will end on Wednesday, May 20th, with its usual 2-hour finale. Lie to Me is set to end the previous week. Fringe is expected to wrap up its season on May 12 at 9pm. The next week, on May 19th, new drama Glee will premiere at 9pm, before returning in the fall with a full season. And Prison Break will end with a 2-hour series finale on May 15th, with Dollhouse ending the week before. Look out for the scheduling of new show "Mental" in the summer schedules post.
