Wow - More ABC Notes

We've been about all ABC lately, and now we've got some more schedule changes and updates. Seems like ABC will be preempting Scrubs and Better Off Ted this week, Wednesday, from 8-9pm. The bad news for Ted fans is that this was the season finale. Now the finale will remain unaired, as will 1 episode of Scrubs. As to when ABC will air them, if they air them at all, is still unknown.

And don't forget, 2 episodes of According to Jim also will remain unaired. It's still unsure as to if ABC will air the season finale of the show in May or not.

Next up: seems like the ABC pilot Flash Forward, which we mentioned in our pilot list, is a sure go. ABC will be airing 5 second promos for it this week during the 100th episode of Lost, which will likely see inflated numbers, this week, Wednesday at 9pm! It will definitley launch in the fall, probably airing Tuesdays or Wednesdays at 10pm, although this is just a guess.

If we find any other updates, we'll make sure to let you know!

EDIT: seems like Surviving Suburbia will be preempted on Monday, May 4th, in favor of a 2-hour Dancing with the Stars, as the contestants will be performing 2 dances. It will be tomorrow night, and the week after, though. Watch it - the show's hilarious!

EDIT#2: Scrubs and Better Off Ted will now be airing their scheduled episodes on Tuesday, May 5th from 8-9pm, preempting According to Jim for the night. According to Jim will no supposedly have 4 episodes unaired. This airing of Better Off Ted will indeed be the season finale, with the series still very much on the bubble for next season.

  1. OMG...IF THEY DONT AIR THOSE EPISODES OF SCRUBS AND 'TED' I'LL BE PISSED!

At least we know that episode of Scrubs will make it to the 8th season DVD set in August, but as 'Ted' looks like it won't make next season, ABC can at least show that last episode!

  2. This is where ABC gets under my skin. They constantly preempt shows, especially those that are not doing so hot, and they leave fans up in the air. They're doing it now with Ted, Scrubs, and Jim, they did it in the fall with Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, and Eli Stone, and they did it in the past with shows like Men in Trees and What About Brian?. I can't stand it.

But, I guess Obama is also to be blamed. 3 months as president, and he's interrupted primetime programming more than Bush did-lol.

One option may be to extend Scrubs and Ted for 1 more week. All that would do is preempt one of those Opportunity Knocks airings, which I doubt ABC will mind doing.

  3. Flash Floward is more likely to air Thursday @ 8 rather than Tuesday or Wednesday.
Tuesday is weak minus DWTS, ABC is likely going to go the route of Betty/Stars/B&S. If not B&S then something new that will appeal to the DWTS crowd.
Wednesday is likely going to be a 4x comedy block with either B&S or something else returning at 10, you can't put a new show there in the fall.
Thursday seems to be the same from 9-11 with a strong chance of Flash Foward at 8.

  4. Flash Forward doesn't sound like an 8pm show, though. I was thinking ABC would stick to comedy on Wednesdays 8-10pm, with Ugly Betty going to Tuesdays at 8pm, and a 1-hour comedy block reopening Thursdays at 8pm.

Brothers and Sisters could be moved to Mondays at 10pm, which sounds logical to me, and a new show going to Sundays at 10pm, which probably won't be Flash Forward. Thursdays 9-11pm will stay the same, but Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10pm still remain open for new dramas.

  5. ABC can't do comedy from 8-10 (which is untested for them) leading into a new drama at 10.

Thursday comedy didn't work for ABC this year. I read the script for FF and it's fine for 8, Lost was once an 8 show.

  6. I think we'll see a 2-hour comedy block. ABC won't know if they don't try, and with so many comedy pilots, they'll need 3 hours for comedy, and Wednesdays remain completely open for next season.

  7. all you do is copy Sitcom online posts....be original! and they said Scrubs/Ted is airing May 5 Tuesday! why do you make stuff up saying ABC might not air them. I saw no such thing on the Sitcom online link.
