NBC, ABC Pilot Updates, FOX Pulls "Sit Down"

Boy, have I been busy lately. Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, partly do the fact that there hasn't been much news, and I haven't had much time. But, I'm back, and I'll start off with some news, and look for the ratings report later tonight/tomorrow morning, depending on when you read this!

Seems like NBC has passed on legal drama "Legally Mad." The David E. Kelly project, about a father and daughter who work together at a law firm, was officially passed on today. It would have been the first DEK series on NBC since L.A. Law. NBC is now set to pay a multimillion dollar penalty to Warner Bros., the producing company of the pilot, for the expenses, after opting not to order it. NBC is hoping to get out of it by renewing another season of Chuck, which is also from Warner and still remains on the bubble. Legally Mad remained a strong contender throughout the past few months, for a likely spot on the fall schedule, but fell flat in recent weeks.

At ABC, the Lauren Graham sitcom pilot is also dead. While the show seemed promising early on, many insiders are led to believe it is dead. ABC execs remain fans of Lauren Graham, but the pilot, about a talkshow host with a turmulous life of her own, fell flat during screening, and lost the buzz. ABC is also on record of saying they were disappointed with how the pilot turned out.

And finally, FOX's new animated comedy dud "Sit Down Shut Up" is now officially dead as well. After just 1.9 million viewers yesterday night, the network opted to pull it. It was airing Sundays at 7pm, previously airing Sundays at 8:30, but will now be replaced with King of the Hill repeats from now on. FOX's entire Animation Domination lineup has really been struggling this season. The Simpsons just posted a series low last night, after 20 years on the air. Family Guy is also way down from previous episodes, and American Dad and King of the Hill continue to just slide by.

Not sure why - maybe the Celebrity Apprentice finale effected these shows last night? (which by the way, was another great finale - go Joan Rivers!) If I were FOX, if The Cleveland Show tanks next season, I would get rid of it and American Dad for good, and stick with The Simpsons and Family Guy, and end this so-called Animation Domination. It's declining. I don't see how FOX keeps renewing The Simpsons. Creatively, the show is terrible. Stories are being recycled, and the stories are idiotic at best. Ratings-wise, it's at the end of its run.
